Hello everyone.
I've found so many great Waffen-SS photos in this forum, that i just had to register myself.
In return for all the photos i got from you people, I shall post a photo of a Serbian SS commander Strahinja Janjić.
He commanded Serbian SS unit (about 100 Serbs).
This unit is often mistaken for Srpski dobrovoljački korpus (or SDK),
which was not an SS unit.
Anyway, Janjić was also a member of SDK until he was sentenced to death (he raped a school teacher).
He was also a German (undercover) agent, so Germans set him free and, in return, he founded Serbian SS unit.
It was truly a lousy unit with soldiers that mostly arrested their former comrades, members of SDK, and bit them in their (SS) headquarters.
Members of Serbian SS wore SD uniforms.

...but the uniforms are old Serbian.
Here are photos of two (Mihailović's) četnik officers.
First one is pre-war, and the other one was taken during the war.
Their names are Pavle Mešković and Borivoje Ilić.
(the other one was brutally killed by communists at the end of the war...)

Here's some more info as i promised (source - Janjić's relatives):
Strahinja Janjić was born in Belgrade, Serbia (father -Nikola; mother -Bosiljka, school teacher).
He got married in Belgrade and had a son (he lives now in USA), but soon got divorced.
After the war he escaped to Canada, got married again and died there.
And some more from Boško N.Kostić's (ex SDK) "Za istoriju naših dana":
Lieutenant Strahinja Janjić volunteered for SDK in October 1941.
He was sent to Kragujevac (Serbia) to serve as an officer with 5th volunteer squad "Šumadijski".
As a good officer (at the time) he became president of Kragujevac county.
But soon he started with blackmail, robberies and he also raped a school teacher.
As soon as they found out about all this, SDK commanders gave order for his arrest.
He was in court the same evening sentenced to death.
But Germans set him free and arrested SDK officer Simeon Kerečki (who arrested Janjić). :roll:
This is how SDK found out that Janjić worked for Germans...
In June 1942, Janjić is founding Serbian SS squad.
He promised Germans that he'll make two Serbian SS Divisions :roll:
for Eastern front and front in Afrika. But he only got about 100 -150 men.
They wore SD uniforms, civilian and even SDK uniforms.
They made terror, killings, robbery...
Serbian SS headquarters was in Belgrade in "Starina Novak" street number 12.
This is where they tortured and killed many of their own people (many of them were SDK members).
Janjić's main assistants were Svetozar Nećak, Miodrag Terzić, Novaković, Aleksandar Catić and Mile Janjić.
Members of SDK had a small battle with Serbian SS in February 1943. in Baroševac (Serbia).
SS surrendered. At that time they were wearing German uniforms and helmets.
(Serbian peasants thought that they were Germans)
Serbian president Nedić and SDK founder Ljotić asked Germans to disband this unit
because of their terror and everything (which they always did under someone else's name -SDK, German etc).
Germans finaly realised this and disbanded Janjić's SS unit in April 1943.
Janjić was sent to Germany...
I saw one more photo of Janjić (sitting at his desk) in one SDK magazine,
but, unfortunately, i haven't scanned it...

Here's an interesting photo of Serbs in Wehrmacht's uniforms.
Unfortunately i have no info on this unit.
Photo can be found in various Yugoslav communist books.
Caption was (something like) Branko Gašparević (Gestapo agent) and his diversion (sabotage) group...
I believe these men were probbably members of Serbian SS.
If anyone has some info about Branko Gašparević, please post it.
