No this is part of a series of quite well know pictures. It was the award ceremony of the RK to Röger and to von Base of GD. Lorenz made the award. The officer in your pic was not Lorenz as Lorenz was a much bigger guy than Röger. Unofrtunately, the other pics I have only had this guy's back so i have no idea who he was.

Your unknown RK Luftwaffen was Hptm Günther Hitz of StukaG 77. Awarding him the RK was Seideman. Please see this forum's thread on SG77 pilots!!

I don't know for the first RKT (i.e. on the left). The second one is Ernst Bormann and the third one is Wolfram freiherr von Richthofen.

I don't think it is Buchner as the man to the left is said to belong to the Nebelwerfer unit of Totenkopf.

Yes, but the face (nose, mouth, chin, ears) rank, and most of decorations, match, don't they?
