Thank you both Denis and Pedro.

But just to be clear, Denis is referring to the skinny RKT being Karl Pabst (and there were two: this was the GebJg) and I have since dug out an inferior quality picture of Pabst -- same signature and the images agreed.

The signature of the hefty fellow in the RK verleihung remains unidentified.

Biblio2= Generalleutnant Werner Anton
Biblio11 = poss. Franz Mattenklott? EDIT: scrub that, it is Betzel
Biblio12 = Officer saluting on right looks like Bruno Frankewitz
findrkt9a0lh.jpg=Officer awarding looks bit like Ritter von Thoma, but the camo is making me doubt myself.

Hello

Biblio9 : this should be a RK Verleihung from members of the KG 53

From left to right (only KC holders)
- the Ofw should be Karl Christmann (to be confirmed since I don't have any pic for him)
- the tall officer : Heinz Gutmann
- the officer whose the face is partially hidden by his visor cap : Heinz Zöllner (to be confirmed since I don't have any pic for him)
- the next one : Ernst-Ascan Gobert
- the following one : Johann Dreher (to confirm)
- then a Major (already RKT) : maybe Karl Rauer (ie The Gruppenkommandeur of the I/KG 53)
The picture would have been taken at the beginning of April, 1944 in Germany.

Regards
Denis

Dieter,
4, 5, 6 are all the same ceremony like Miha stated. The officer presenting the awards (with glasses) is Walther Wadehn which makes them Fallschirmjäger, not Flieger, so the I.D.'s may be off. I suspect it's from 3. Fallschirmjäger-Division which Wadehn was in command from Aug 1944-Jan 1945.

Hi Gareth,

I would support my statement with the "Legion Condor" cuff titles and pilot's badges they both wear.

best,
Miha

I'm just trying to find a link between Wadehn & the Ritterkreuzträger. After 1941 (with the DKiG it'd need to be post 41) Wadehn commanded training or ground units. You have an excellent point with the LC cuffs though. My apologies.

Another possible for the officer is Walter Boenicke. Any links there between him & KG53?
