Many thanks for your input Stauffenberg II!

Only two first names left:
- Obstlt ??? NIEMEYER
- Obst ??? STIOTTA

...and pics left:
- MAGNUS
- SCHLÖMER
- Arthur SCHMIDT
- KUSNOWSKI
- NIEMEYER
- VASSOLL
- STIOTTA
- SCHILDKNECHT
- THUNERT

These ones seem to be more difficult to find so the quality doesn't matter, except for Arthur Schmidt, I would like to have a good portrait of him if possible.

Thank you very much Königstiger for those pics of Schmidt. What a difference between the first and the second pic. How stressful can a battle be 8O
I took a look at your site but couldn't understand it too much. I'm not any good with the dutch. Maybe I'll have to ask the Princess Máxima :D
Thanks once again.
Best regards,

Absolute gems from Ebay!! From the estate of Herbert Selle.
here we have Paulus with Arthur Schmidt and Selle. Who was the foreign general?
Elchlepp and Major i.G. Wenzel?? (So Stalingrad.net was probably wrong re Breithaupt)
Who were the three musketeers?
Cheers
Freiherr

Hello Freiherr,
Beautiful pictures! Possibly the gentleman to whom Paulus appears to be making a speech could be Kenraaliluutnanti (Lt.Gen.) Lauri Malmberg, commander of the Finnish Home Forces, to whom he certainly bears a considerable likeness. I have no evidence for this, but it seems plausible that he could be inspecting the Finnish volunteers with the SS-"Wiking" division. Just a qualified guess...
Cheers
Michael

Here's a photo of Erich Magnus, posted yesterday on flickr (I didn't want to create a new thread).

Generalmajor Erich Magnus
* 31.07.1892 Danzig
† 06.08.1979

Image

(the album at http://www.flickr.com/photos/41818881@N ... otostream/ also contains pictures of Generalstabsarzt Dr. med. Otto Renoldi, Generalleutnant Heinrich–Anton Deboi, Generalmajor Dr. rer. pol. Otto Korfes, General der Artillerie Walther von Seydlitz–Kurzbach and Generalfeldmarschall Friedrich Paulus).
