Hi Helly,
Thanks very much for the excellent pictures of Jakob. Also to Ernst for allowing the use of them.
I only need to get a couple of Inga Ley and I will be a very happy chappy! :D

Hi Ady,

The only picture I know of Inge (Inga) Ley is the following.
Here you see her with Hitler.

Best,
Mich.

Hi Mich,
Thanks for the info.
I must say what a beautiful young woman she was.
I expected someone more like Magda Goebels, you know heavily built and very 'fraueish'.
Robert Ley was no matinee idol that's for sure.

Truly Stunning

Post by Ady33-45 » 15 Aug 2004, 11:37

Hi Geoff,
Thanks for the picture.
I must say Inge was a truly stunning woman and from what I have heard she tried to (managed to?) commit suicide!
I would love to know more about her, any biographies about?
Ady. :D

She looks a little like Veronica Lake without the peak-a-boo hair. Traudl Junge commented she thought she was dull.

Power can make any man attractive to some or so I have heard.

Why did a babe like Inga, shack up with a scum bag like Ley? :?

And I heard that Ley suffered from mental problems that were induced either by heavy drinking or head trauma due to a flying accident.

And Trandl labeling Inga Ley as "dull" possibly meant that Inga Ley was a self-obsessed and empty headed bimbo.

Perhaps because, as Henry Kissinger once observed (while dating Jill St. John), "Power is an aphrodisiac."

"I heard" just doesn't cut it. Suggest you read the affadavit taken at Nuremberg, "The Private Life of Ley", given by his personal secretary, Hildegarde Bruninghoff (IWM, FO645, Box 155, "Private Life of Ley. Bruninghoff, Notes through Interrogation Division", October 1945, pp. 2-8.)

Traudl Junge's comment on Inge Ley as being "dull" "could have" meant any number of things....not necessarily that she was a "self-obsessed and empty-headed bimbo."

Inge Ley, as someone said earlier, was obviously a truly stunning woman---strikingly beautiful, at least in appearance. I've always wondered why such women are somehow automatically written off by some as vacuous. In my experience, it's usually a "catty bitch" female comment. Her photos remind me, in a modern sense, of a young Faye Dunaway----not at all an image that I'd associate with either "empty-headed" or "bimbo."

Annelie and Brumbar, I think you're both right on track with your "Power as an Aphrodisiac" thoughts. But then, there's always the "Power Behind the Throne" idea.....
