What new army number was russian corps given?

What new army number was russian corps given?

Did the russians phase out the corps in 1941-42 or was the redesignated to armies. Anyone knows about this? What corps became which army???

This is just for 1941:

2nd Rc- 54th Army Hqs
3rd Rc- 46th Army Hqs
12th Rc- 36th Army Hqs
17th Rc- 6th Army Hqs (II)
18th Rc- 35th Army Hqs
19th Rc- Coastal Operational Group Hqs
20th Rc- Bryansk Front Hqs
23rd Rc- 45th Army Hqs
25th Rc- 52nd Army Hqs
27th Rc- 40th Army Hqs
30th Rc- 29th Army Hqs
33rd Rc- 43rd Army Hqs
35th Rc- 49th Army Hqs
40th Rc- 46th Army Hqs
44th Rc- 50th Army Hqs
48th Rc- 12th Army Hqs (II)
50th Rc- 42nd Army Hqs
52nd Rc- 30th Army Hqs

Also many others were destroyed in the "kessels" or simply disbanded

thanks Kosta, much needed info.

Do you know what happened to the existing field armies on the invasion eg the ones that was made up of 1 or more Corps? I know some of them were reformed and brought back into action but the other ones? Were they disbanded following the transformation of corps into armies or what happened?

Gentlemen,

Here is what I have on the original Army Headquarters. I will have to do some digging on the Corps HQ:

HQ, 3rd Army - survived entire war and disbanded in August 1945
HQ, 4th Army - 23 July 1941 becomes HQ, Central Front
HQ, 5th Army - HQ officially disbanded 25 September 1941
HQ, 6th Army - 10 August 1941 headquarters disbanded
HQ, 7th Army - 18 December 1944 headquarters disbanded; personnel used to form HQ, 9th Guards Army
HQ, 8th Army - survived entire war and disbanded in September 1945
HQ, 9th Army - HQ disbanded 29 Octber 1943
HQ, 10th Army - HQ officially disbanded 5 July 1941
HQ, 11th Army - HQ disbanded 18 December 1943
HQ, 12th Army - HQ disbanded 10 August 1941
HQ, 13th Army - survived not only entire war, but also entire Cold War up to dissolution of USSR
HQ, 14th Army - 31 July 1945 HQ disbanded and personnel used t fill out HQ, Belomorsk Military District
HQ, 16th Army - HQ disbanded 8 Auust 1941
HQ, 18th Army - HQ disbanded in May 1946
HQ, 19th Army - HQ disbanded 20 October 1941
HQ, 20th Army - HQ disbanded 20 Octoer 1941
HQ, 21st Army - HQ awarded 'Guards' status and renumbered to HQ, 6th Guards Army on 16 April 1943
HQ, 22nd Army - HQ disbanded in August 1945 and personnel used to form HQ, Tavricheskii Military District
HQ, 23rd Army - survived not only entire war, but also entire Cold War up to dissolution of USSR
HQ, 24th Army - HQ disbanded 10 October 1941
HQ, 26th Army - HQ officially disbanded 25 September 1941
HQ, 27th Army - HQ redesignated HQ, 4th Shock Army on 25 December 1941

The 1st Red Banner, 2nd Red Banner, 15th, 17th and 25th Armies were all out east in either the Trans-Baikal or Far East Military Districts.
