Kurt Daluege/family

Post by Nadya » 26 Jul 2006 07:57

Hi!
For some time past I have been studying families of high-ranking Nazis and there are many books and sources on them, on their lives and their attitude towards their relatives. And recently I've tried to find some information on Kurt Daluege, but rather unsuccessful. All I know is that he had a brother Erich, was married to Kathe Schwartz and had 3 (?) children. Can anyone please provide some more info concerning his family? Was he a family man? Who were his parents, did he have any other siblings? What happened to his wife and children after his death?
Thank you in advance! I will be very grateful for any information.

Kind regards,
Nadya

Daluege was the son of a civil servant.
He married Käthe Schwarz on 16 Oct 1926 and they had 4 children, 3 sons and 1 daughter.

Phil,
this link http://westhavelland.antifa.net/AGW%20G ... 201933.htm mentions Erich Daluege as his brother and I remember reading a letter from Erich that started as "Lieber Kurt", so I think he is.

Max, thanks for your reply.
Do you have any information on his children and wife?
Daluege was quite an important person of the 3d Reich, but unfortunately info on him is scarce...

Max.

what I can find in my files:

Käthe Schwarz was born on 23 November 1901
Three sons:
6 March 1937
20 August 1938
12 July 1940

One daugther:
12 Mai 1942

I have not found any names of the children.

Nadya,
starting a letter with "Lieber" ("Lieber Kurt" in this case) was also done between friends so does not necessarily indicate a familie relationship.

Ernst-H, thank you for your reply.
I guess the couple was upset not having children for such a long time...

I know, but they shared the same surname and called each other by names, so I think they were brothers.

Phil,

Probably stupid question, but did he got the EK II and EK I during the Great War or later???
And the Wound Badge, was that also something from 1918/1919 or from later???

And as far as I can make up from all these writings here and from the sentence: "Erster NSDAP - Ortsgruppenleiter war Erich Daluege, Bruder von Kurt Daluege und späterer Landrat in Goldberg (Schlesien).", shown in the document provided through the link displayed in this post/thread, I'm almost convinced he indeed was the brother from Kurt.

Greetings,
Mike

I did a search on forum and it seems that following photos weren't posted before.
(if they were - sorry for the double-post)

Anyhow, here's Daluege and his wife with daughter - and their three sons.

Children of Kurt Daluege

16 October 1926 marriage with Käthe Schwarz, daughter of Carl Schwarz and Gertrud Schaaf. I know only three
Children: Helge (adopted), Klaus and Gunther. I miss the name of the female child.

Thanks Helge, thats the first time I have seen the names mentioned outside of a german source I too cannot remember and in the hunt for.

He did indeed have 4 children, 1 adopted and 3 biological, all were males except one girl (biological daughter of Daluege).

I would love any and all further information on him in general, it is rather bare and he seems to be only referenced often in other works. I know of no biography in the english language exclusively on him.
