Re: Turkish Artillery
Hi all,
I found this image on EBay and I am not sure about this artillery piece. I think 105mm Skoda M16/19 mountain howitzer barrel trailer.
Can anyone confirm it?

Re: Turkish Artillery
A Turkish gun exibited at the Eger Castle in Hungary. The gun was made during the reign of Sultan Mahmet III. Egri was conquered by Sultan Mehmet III in Oct. 12nd 1569. 27 Turkish guns ruined the city walls which made the Turks enter into the city. I visited Eger in Oct 27th 2014

Re: Turkish Artillery
I have found a gun tube in the US that is fairly similar to the Prussian C64/67. But the trunnions are rounded not square as with the standard C/64 or C/67. There are few markings on the tube except a number near the muzzle. I have attached a photo. There is a nearly identical tube at the Turkish Naval Museum in Istanbul. Photo also attached. Any idea what gun type these are? and were they Ottoman built, patterned after the Prussian C/67, or an export variant?

Tosum
Good to hear from you. I am well. I have been working on a German 10,5cm lFH 98 Limber of the same type at Ataturk's Mausoleum. I think the one I have is the only other complete original other than the one used in Kamal Ataturk's funeral:

Also, some months ago, I managed to get an original breech block for the 9cm C/1873:

I hope you have a great new year as well---

Very nice photo, but isn't it a Bofors 7.5cm mountain gun? A gun also widely used in my county, ChinaTosun Saral wrote:1935 Skoda Field gun

Re: Turkish Artillery
Mates,
This showed up on another site, any ideas?
"Hi everyone,
I am now looking into the events of September 19th, 1918 – The first few hours of the Armageddon Campaign, mostly regarding the infantry actions.
Here and there physical evidence (remains of trenches and lots of ammunition) is popping out.
Looking for relevant photo's, I came across this one:
http://www.iwm.org.u...bject/20524811
The caption claims:
Officers of the Suffolk Yeomanry (74th Division) examining a captured Turkish gun at Tabsor. September 1918
Of course, 1917 is wrong, and we are talking about September 1918. I have reports that a similar gun (described as a German gun) was captured at et-Tire (About 5 Km North-East of Tabsor). My question: can anyone identity what type of gun this is?
Many thanks,
Eran
The gun looks like a 24cm Skoda type gun but that's as far my ideas goes?
Any ideas
