Female Golden Party Badge

Post by coburg22 » 21 Oct 2006 20:35

I was wondering if anybody knew of female Third Reich Personalities who
were awarded the Golden Party Badge? I know that a couple of Hitler's
private secretaries received the badge and possibly Magda Goebbels but
that is it on my end. Any help would be appreciated.

I imagine Sister Pia Bauer received the golden party pin.

Magda received the Golden Party pin of the Führer the last day of the Hitler´s life.

I remember Professor Gerdy Troost, the widows of the austrian Nationalsocialists who were killed after the uprising in 1934 and Mrs Bechstein. I will look in my papers to find more informations.

Female Golden Party Badge

Post by coburg22 » 21 Oct 2006 23:02

Hello Helly Angel and Mjolnir,
Thank you very much for your replies. I should have assumed Sister Pia of Beer
Hall Putsch fame received the GPB.
I knew of Troost but I keep forgetting about his wife, is'nt she the one that helped
with the RK Award Documents for the Higher Grade Awards?
I did not know that the widows of July 1934 Austrian Putsch received the GPB.

As a general frame of reference, there were about 1,800 women (of about 22,000 recipients) who received the badge at the original 1933 awarding, by meeting the criteria of having a Party member number from 1 to 100,000 and continuous service.

Female Golden Party Badge

Post by coburg22 » 22 Oct 2006 02:12

Vikki,
Thank you for your reply. I am sure as you said there were a number of recipients
but few photos of them in wear in regards to female recipients. It sure would be
nice to have a list just for the record.

IMO Magda Goebbels is the fomous receipnent because A.H. awarded her his own Golden Party Badge during his and her last hours in the Fuhrerbunker. This badge was burned while they burned her and her husbands body in the same way as the bodies of A.H. and E.B. The badge was found by the Sowjets and was published in the well known book of Lew Besemsky (?).

Women who recieved this award would have been very few and far between. There was only a very small number of the first 100,000 who actually had the full length of party membership to qualify as stated by FV above. Even smaller was the number who served as functionaries in the party as volunteer secretarys or whatever who would have qualified for the 25 year service medal!

That's true, but did she have one of her own? I know that she was an active party member prior to 1933, but I don't know what her party number was offhand...

Sister Pia

Post by Matt Gibbs » 19 Nov 2006 00:34

Hello folks
Pretty elusive but interesting photo I have found of Sister Pia wearing her Blood Order but not the GPB.
How many women were recipients of the Blood Order do you think.
Best wishes

Hmm, no one got any ideas on this one. Shame. I was hoping for some more infel.
Ah well.
Here is another quick question then, when did Gertrud Sholtz Klink get her Golden Party badge, and does anyone know any more of her details of party membership. I think I shall have to see if I can get a copy of her file from BDC

Hello Matt,

I want to guess to your question above that besides Sister Pia, there were perhaps
two honorary awards?

I thought I remembered seeing a reference alluding that Sister Pia didn't have the Gold Party Pin. And quite by accident, while looking for something else, I stumbled upon it.

For the information in the quote below, "thomas" gives as the source: Hitlers List, Ein Dokument persönlicher Beziehungen, from Anton Joachimsthaler.

The thread has some pictures of her, and further personal information.

thomas wrote:4. Eleonere Baur entered January 1920 she entered in the DAP, first name of the NSDAP, with number 506, and not like many authors wrote with the number 511. She thought as blood order holder she have not to pay any fee for the NSDAP. But she was wrong, that is the reason that she entered only 1. may 1937 in the NSDAP with the Number 5'096034.

viewtopic.php?t=45538

If her actual membership date was 1 Mai 1937, and her registered membership number 5096024, she wouldn't have held one of the original issuances of the Pin, though it may have been awarded to her later, in light of her service. Perhaps thomas, Max Williams, or Michael Miller can shed some further light on this very interesting question.

Best,

The following concerns "ehrenhalber" (honorary) recipients of the Goldenes Ehrenzeichen der NSDAP. Source is a stack of photocopied NSDAP correspondence I obtained from Roger Bender, including official announcements from the office of the Reichsschatzmeister (Reich Treasurer) Franz Xaver Schwarz and from the Parteikanzlei der NSDAP (Martin Bormann). I was unable to find "Schwester Pia's" name on any of these lists.

Best wishes,
~ Mike
