With the snow on the ground, the picture if of German origin has to be taken in the winter of 1940 as the earliest.

Uummhhh...It is possible but I would say that the barrel seems longer...Maybe an 320mm Mle 70-93 or Mle 70-84 ...

A!! yes!!! I can see the barrel "steps" now. You're right Sturm78. Not a 1870-81. 1870-93 maybe?

Based on the short barrel, I think it is a "320 mm modèle 1870-81 sur affût à glissement Schneider".
