Italian units in South Peloponnese, Greece 1941-43

Dear friends,
I am searching about the italian units in southern Peloponnese , especially in the area of Molaoi.As far as I know there was the 59th Mtn Inf Div “Cagliari” .I want more specific information , maybe from the italian field post or from a book.

few data....AFAIK the italian occupation force for Peloponnesos afforded on VIII Corps which in Fall 1941 was formed by 3rd Alpine Division Julia, 29th Infantry Division Piemonte, 51st Infantry Division Siena and 59th Mountain Infantry Division Cagliari.
During 1942, Julia had been sent on russian front and Siena on Crete island, leaving the corps on Piemonte and Cagliari divisions only.

About Cagliari, in Spring 1943 it was formed by:
63rd, 64th and 363rd Infantry Regiment, 59th Field Artillery Regiment, a cannon company, a mortar battalion, a Finance Guard battalion and a Blackshirt company

Where is Molaoi exactly ? got plenty of sitmaps from this period on microfilm showing exactly what units were where....

Molaoi is in the southern Peloponnesos in the province of Laconia.I am searching for the units which based at Molaoi during the period 6/1941 - 9/1943.

Ok, snapshots of OB's from NARA microfilm T821/143/IT1206 starting with Mar 43, then Apr 43, Jun 43, Aug43 but all 4 are exactly the same, no change, so only attaching one - Mar 43. Hope this helps.

And here is the more detailed map showing exactly what part of each division was where, from 25Apr43 map; I had to reduce the quality a lot to fit into the attachment limit but I have a much larger copy from which you can see individual batteries/companies/battalions if you need me to email it offline.

Hi Stefan,
I'm new to this site and I'm so glad I found it. I'm doing some research about the Northern Peloponnese during WW2. I find the maps you have posted very interesting. Would you possibly be so kind as to point me in the right direction as to where I can obtain such a map. I am interested in anything that was going on in the area at the time.

It is interesting to see Xylokastron on there. My Dad is from Xylokastron and I used to live there as a child. My Dad was actually born in Killini in 1943. He and his family narrowly escaped the 117th Jaeger Division when they were carrying out some reprisal killings in the area - just two days after the Kalavryta Massacre. The family moved to Xylokastron after the war.
