(Pz-Türme) tankturrets on Rs at the Südwall

Post by erik1939-1945 » 22 Jan 2007 15:44

hello

i just arrived back froma nice & warm trip to the Südwall. we managed to visit the coastline from the spanish-french boarder ( col de balitres) up to Montpellier.

As one of our guides the book "Atlantikwall-Südwall" was used:
according to this book some tankturret should be still in place until "today" ?

in the visited sector we know / found so far:
Col de Balitres: Rs with 38 (t)
St Pierre: Rs with R35

we missed (didnt find)/ needing updates on the follwing places:

Plage des Elmes = Pz II turret (info AW/SW book image page 298/info page 300)
-->> today still in place ?

Pz II image page 297
-->> where is this taken ? and still there today ?

any update / help is highly welcome
greetings

erik R

hello

Col de Balitres
the guns was already "gone" in 2005 during my first visit !

Le Perthus
the typical shape on top of the Rs "says" that there was a 38 (t) installed - and no panther !

Hi Erik, the form of the 38(t) was not a square, it had a different shape.
Thanks for the nice pictures.
Greetings Jack
