Those are great pictures too! The Archives "Boxer" collection also includes pictures of:

Russians troops
Japanese troops
French troops(Actually indo-Chinese)
Italian troops
British troops.
Chinese troops including Boxers
US Marines, Infantry and Cavalry.
If there is enough interest I'll copy the whole collection. BTW feel free to use the pics for any purpose you like they are all public domain just credit the US National Archives. Please "right click and save" as because of the size I will be forced to eventually delete the pics from my picture hosting account. Or you can PM me and I'll send them to you.

German Stable. Note in the right foreground near the German holding the horse reigns is a US Cavalryman.
Given that the US Army had a large number of immigrants from Germany it is entirely possible the US soldier is conversing with men from the "old country" in his native tongue.
