Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Re: The official AHF Panzers & other vehicles quiz thread
Hallo Henning,
thanks for this pass (in the speech of soccer players). I think it is a Hansa-Lloyd, I assume the smaller model, called Bremen for 2 tons, the type Bremen IV of the year 1937/38, or with tanother ID: Lastkraftwagen Typ 2 Tonner Benzin or Diesel.
Regards
Bert

Re: The official AHF Panzers & other vehicles quiz thread
Hello Bertram
As I notice your activity today in the forum, I thought "thats it" he knows it
I think you are right. on this pic we cant say if it is a Benzin or Diesel. the difference between the 2t and 2,5t is only the messure between the axles and the tires.
I think its a 2,5t it seems a little bit longer distance.
2t:
6,00 X 2,00 tire
3,80 m axle distance
2,5t
6,50 X 2,00 tire
4,20m & 4,60m axle distance
but on the pic we cant say it defently.
I think its up to you
Bill:
The solution was so near in the "Bloody Borgward"
the small line of vertical louvres is typical for this HL 2t/2,5t if we could count it , it would be every time 5 louvres.
best regards and thamk you that I could ask
Henning

Hi Henning,
Thank You. You are right. It is nearly impossible to ID this truck,is it for 2 or 2 1/2 tons.
Now to the next vehicle, after a complete roll-over in the snow. Please try to ID it. Much luck.
Regards
Bert

Sorry Phil & Bill,
about my unexact question
I want to know the vehicle marque and the special truck marking. in best the year of building
I hope its not to difficult for reading my poor english for all here! For me I think , its better poor and simple english than no english
this hobby , ID trucks , compare historicle technics and compare, collecting old pics are very interessting!

Henning
Hello Henning
Bill misunderstood my attempt at humour. I am an armour man and, well to me it IS just a truck. I can't tell a Famo from a Ford at 5 paces. So I was lampooning my own lack of knowledge really.
Good for you for posting and I agree you are brave to post in a language that is not your first. Aside from some military German (Krankenpanzerwagen, panzerfaust etc) I am quite illiterate!
Phil

Re: The official AHF Panzers & other vehicles quiz thread
Henning, Phil, Bert:............
I was only trying to poke a bit of fun at Phil, and I believe that Yanks and Brits are allowed to do that given our history.
And, Phil, my knowledge of subjects outside of wheeled soft skinned vehicles is to say the least very poor.
Just as you do, I try to participate in quiz questions that deal with armour, ships, aircraft and other weapons by using Google or Wiki if I think I might be able to find an answer. It is addictive, this interest in mechanical things having to do with the Second World War or the 1939-1945 War depending on where one lives.
And Henning, I am very impressed with your using a language which is not your first language. Sometimes, I write the wrong thing when I question exactly what someone is searching for when they post a photo question if it is not in their first language. It is my fault, not yours if I do not take time to understand the question.
Henning, I encourage you to continue to do all the posting on this forum that you have time to do, especially about the Bloody Borgwards, which I hope to learn more about through your contributions to this and other Forums.
Bert, carry on my friend, you will carry the torch in the future I think for vehicle identification.

Hi Steve,
You got it. My compliment. I think it is not so easy to ID a vehicle from the rear and from the bottom. But You succeded.
So it´s Your turn to go on.

Hi Bert,
To continue the upside down theme, here is a relatively easy one - I hope, also I hope no one was seriously hurt in the accident.
Cheers

Re: The official AHF Panzers & other vehicles quiz thread
Aleks, Is that an SdKfz 260 with the grenade screens removed ? Although I thought it a 247 (4 rad) at first but now I think that the nose is too steep and narrow.

Re: The official AHF Panzers & other vehicles quiz thread
Well, my source states that this vehicle is Sd.Kfz 247 from the 116. Panzer Division 'Windhund'
panzergrenadier.net
In any case, you gave this variant too, so over to you!
Best regards, Aleks

Aleks, The chassis was the same at least ! Look what I found when googling the 247 to see if I could give you a couple of comparisons. Scroll down to your pic and the post after it , they can't agree either.

Re: The official AHF Panzers & other vehicles quiz thread
Hi guys,
Clearly a SdKfz 260, as the 247 has much longer roof over the driver position, side vision ports and the exhaust pipe coming out from the starboard airvent at the front.
Cheers
