Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hi Rich,
Right on the money, a '38-39 Sharknose it is. In this case the shark's nose is much prettier than its tail .
Your turn now.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
HI Max
I just don't have anything good for the quiz at the moment. Please pass my turn on to someone else so I don't hold up the quiz anymore.
Thanks
Rich

Hi Max,
after some time to think about it I decided to take Your offer with the first shot with a new question. I think this pic could be a suitable found on the Russian photo archives www.photo-war.com. So the question is, who can ID this vehicle, where two German soldiers are sitting on the motor hood.
Best regards
Bert

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hi Bert,
Well, the windscreen doesn't look to me like the BT 4500 or 4-BRDv. Plus, I haven't seen the tool holders on the bonnet on other models. I also considered the OM Titano, which looks similar, but is RHD.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hi Max,
excuse me, please! I was checking all my pics of Saurer heavy trucks and I must admit that You are right. It must be a Saurer SGS or SGA 4500. First I thought, that it is a BT 4500, but You are totally right, that the windscreen doesn't look to me like the BT 4500 and I have also seen the tool holders on the bonnet only on the type SGS or SGA 4500. Sorry, once more. Please, go on with the quiz.
Best regards

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Thank you, Bert. Yes, the models are very similar indeed, especially in that heavily cropped photo.
For our next here is another lorry:

Max,
I remember this image from a couple of months ago.. it's a Unic S18.
My photo is of a bus dated 1934.
Regards, Rob.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Thank you very much, Max.
It took me quite a while to identify the vehicle in this photograph; once I did identify it I found the image very useful as I was preparing a set of scale drawings of that vehicle at the time.
See what you think.
Rob.

Hi Rob,
It looks like a Hanomag Kfz. 1, either a 4/20 PS or a Rekord.
