I'm quite sure they used Bredas but I don't know if they had Bofors before the Commonwealth intervention.

We had 20mm Rheinmetall Flak 30 and Oerlikon, 37mm Flak 18, 75mm Bofors, 88mm Krupp, and there are pics showing 40mm Bofors guns with joint Greek/Commonwealth crews, but the first 40mm Bofors must have been issued to the Free Greek Forces in North Africa.

tks both.

The Swedish govt impounded Greek Bofors 40mm on the production line, according to Fransson. So possibly none arrived before the outbreak of WW2....

Do you know how many Bofors 75mm were available? Also some Swedish sources state these were 76,2mm...?

Greetings

I don't have my books here at the office, but I can check them at home (if I have the time).

If you mean http://greekmilitary.net/WW2/2003976433318363763_rs.jpg , it's a Hotchkiss 13mm weapon.

Thanks for very fast answer, guys! Nice photos, Sitzkrieg! :D Do you happen to know how many of 13.2 mm Hotchkiss MGs, German Flak30 and Oerlikon guns Greeks had (for comparison)? Have you any photos of Oerlikons in Greek service?

Numbers, I do not remember. Oerlikon... Hmm, there is a photo found in a Greek magazine of an Oerlikon (although the caption says Rheinmetall, it could be an Oerlikon....) on a Hansa-Lloyd truck:

The guns don't look like Oerlikon to me! But on the other hand, gun mounting doesn't look like German 20mm Flak too... :? So let's wait nuyt!
