Rgt-Gruppe Wackernagel (renamed as such 2/3 April 1945 and formed part of Pz.Gren.Ers.Brigade GD along with Rgt-Gruppe Poeschmann) was attached to Pz.Gren.Rgt.115 of 15. Pz.Gren.Division around 20th April 1945 after Pz.Gren.Ers.Brigade GD had suffered heavy losses at Linden (Lingen ?) and Cloppenburg against the British.
On the 29th April 1945 Wackernagel was taken ill and replaced by Hans-Peter Goeldel (previously Kdr II./Rgt-Gruppe Wackernagel).

The Ordensträger lists Klaus Wackernagel as winning the DKiG and yet the card file for Eberhard Wackernagel shows the award noted. In the 1943 & 1944 DAL there is only one Wackernagel listed (both times as Hauptmann) and having served with Inf.Lehr-Rgt pre-war, again as shown on Eberhard's card. Is there a chance that Eberhard & Klaus are the same person?

I think so. I have hime twice as Klaus (in DKiG, and in Hans´ list), and twice as Eberhard (in Blattsp., and in his Karteikarte above). But must be the same man....
My question, is one of the names wrong or was his full true name Klaus Eberhard (or Eberhard Klaus) ? Has somebody his Akte (or his DOB/DOD) ?

Eberhard Wackernagel died on 11th Nov 2003 as can be seen on his gravestone. The date of birth matches the one on his card.

Bravo Hucks
So Eberhard is correct (and probably Klaus was his second first name, like Eberhard Klaus Wackernagel, or Klaus totally wrong ?)
