Vehicle Identity Requests: Allied & Neutral States

Recently found this picture from cleaning a german ammunition depot in Denmark
Can anyone help me identify the make.
To me it looks like Chevrolet or Dodge, but what worries me is the mg-ring on the cabin.
If american make the ring should be on the right side of cabin

Hi Leif:
Your truck is a Dodge D60L 3 ton 4X2 of Canadian origin and supplied to the UK. The Canadians also used them and the Australians assembled a similar vehicle that was imported from the US.

One of a wide range of Modified Commercial Pattern vehicles used by all Commonwealth countries. Included were Ford, Chevrolet, International Harvester and GMC and maybe a few others. Basically, , militarized civilian trucks and cars.

Edit: Here is a photo of the same type of truck with dual rear tyres in use by the Dutch at the end of the war.

Claryfies a lot. I was wondering as there are only 2 wheels on rear axle. Have searched all over and only found types with 4 wheeled rear axle
And of course it´s Canadian for the UK. Right side steering wheel

I can add, that the Danish Army recieved 44 of these from the British Army in Germany in the summer of 1945 and all were still in the inventory by 1952.

According to the caption of this ebay.de picture, it was French small ammunition carrier. Was it widely used ?

On page 94, two french remote-controlled vehicles are mentioned: the "véhicule P" and the "engin K".

The bar across the caterpillar part looks similar to the bar on the Lorraine tankette. Could it be the "véhicule P" then ?

I now came across a picture of Tripolis showing the same type of harbour buildings Bill has on his picture with the ship in port (almost at the beginning of this thread). Therefore I assume the trucks aren't French ones, but Italian or German. May be better post the picture in the Axis or North African section?

Thanks Markus. Yes, it looks like the same type of vehicle viewed from the opposite end.
If Kegresse type suspension then could it be the "engin K".

Per David Lehmann (see also http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?p=507400):
The "engin K" (K for Alphonse Kégresse, the constructor) : 12,000 vehicles ordered (6,000 in April 1940, 6,000 in May 1940), precursor of the Goliath which was built later based on this French vehicle.

Although I can't positively identify the armored truck in Alan's photo, I have found photos of similar vehicles:


This one appears to be identical to the vehicle in the previous photo.


This one has some detail differences, but is of very similar design and construction.

Unfortunately, I have no details as to the identity of the vehicles or unit(s) in these photos. Anyone else?

My partially educated guess would be that these vehicles saw action during the 1936-1939 Palestine Troubles.
