Post by Bill Murray » 18 Aug 2007 16:22

I started this in the Allies and Neutral States Forum and hope to see some action in this one as well.
Here is the first.

Yes Marcus that is the one.
Actually I posted the photo by mistake. I originally was not sure what it was and forgot to go back and ID it but as it was an interesting shot I left it here.
Built by Gramm. Here is a good photo from the US Army Transportation Museum site.

Another from the Spanish Civil War also ex ebay long ago.
And another ebay take. This one is RW era and note the two trucks are not the same.

The aircraft recovery truck maybe a Vomag. Doesn´t look quite dissimilar to the 6 LR 653 at http://powalski.de/speditionsportrait/2 ... -Fritz.php

Hi all,

I found these two images on Ebay. Can anybody help me to Id. the vehicles? I think that they are Czech vehicles towing 83.5mm Vz 22 Skoda AA guns but I am not sure.

Hi Sturm:

I am still looking on the car photo but I am pretty sure the truck is a Berna.

Note the logo on the radiator mask and compare it to my photo here.

Edit: This is a later version, the earlier version had a more distinct circle and the bar under the bear was a little more pronounced.

Bill, judging by logo the truck is definitely a Skoda type.

Hi Njori:

Thank you for the correction. I was never much good at telling the difference between a bird and a bear
At least I was on the right trail.

In such a case, the only Skoda vehicle I have come up with so far that is even close is the model 545 from the period 1920-1927. No good photos yet but I am still looking. Do you have an idea??

I am now researching the passenger car and hope to have an opinion later today.

Found it!!!!!

It is a Skoda Z model (1921-1923) Two good photos appear in Bart Vanderveen's book "The Observer's Army Vehicles Directory To 1940" on page 57.

The car may be a Praga/Raba Grand Car 6/10 seater. Pictured in the same book on page 37 although the wheels are different.
Thanks again Njori for the excellent tip.

In this thread there is a picture of a pretty distinct armoured car. Does anyone have any clues? It looks like an improvised car, but I have no clue...
