Hello i can help you , KIBAG means in German = Kino-Basisgerät-Auswertegerät.

Translated to english it means = Cinema basis device plotting device.

Thank you for the information. From contacting the Zeiss archives and paying 15EUR, they provided me with a photo of what their information states is a Kinobasisgerat.. Here is a scan of the photo:

However, this does not help me in determining how the 12x60 glass is used in conjunction with this instrument, or if the 12x60 glasses are used with some other type of equipment entirely. The 12x60 glasses were marked "zum Kibag 40" for a reason and I am trying to find out the reason. If the equipment in the photo above is the Kibag 40 that is referred to on the 12x60 glasses, I am trying to learn how these two items were used together.

A training aid, perhaps, for gunners, using a stereoscope to give a 3d effect to the visual image.

Kinobasisgerat is a term for cinetheodolite. Basically it tracked and read elevations and trajectory of launched missles such as V2, etc.

According to the Ebay caption this should be a Kibag Gerät and you can see the binoculars on top of the range finder.
