An early member of the NSDAP, since 1925 and Party Badge in Gold wearer. He was born in Weiskirchlitz/Böhmen Aug. 5th, 1903. Died ca. 1950 in Dresden. He got the idea for what became "Heil Hitler dir" in Plauen where he had traveled to hear Hitler speak. The march was first given the name "Sachsenmarsch der NSDAP". The march was also performed by one of the first SA orchestras under Fuhsel in Berlin. Schestak also conducted in 1935 the Dresden Philharmonie Orchester for some important occasions including the 5th day of the death of Horst Wessel and Heldengedenkentag 1935. Only one version of the song (performed by Carl Woitschach and mens choir on Telefunken) has so far surfaced online, although we know others were recorded as well. Incidentally, if anyone knows a source of these versions, P.M. me. I may be interested.
