RKT and Blutorder-holders that served in the Bundeswehr

#1

Post by Doktor Krollspell » 22 Jan 2008, 00:09

Hello!

Blutorder recipient and RKT Richard Ernst, RK on 20.10.1944 as an Oberstleutnant commanding Geb.Jg.Rgt. 100, served in the post-war Bundeswehr as Kommandeur of the Gebirgs- und Winterkampfschule der Bundeswehr in Luttensee, reaching the rank of Oberst.

Are there any more post-war Bundeswehr Officers that also were holders of the Blutorden? It would seem that this particular award shouldn't enforce a post-war career or..? Or like Ernst holders of both the Blutorden and the Ritterkreuz and doing a Bundeswehr career?

Any input and information is as always welcome?

Richard Ernst

Vielen Dank Herr Doktor!

I should have used the search engine...

So, two known Blutorden holders in the Bundeswehr, Oberstleutnant Ernst and Generalmajor Hermann. Very interesting. I suppose that, apart from being a politically very un-correct award from a post-war Bundeswehr career point of view, the fact that most Blutorden holders probably were to old to see new military service in the mid-fifties and onwards disqualified them.

Again Herr Doktor Zinke...
in the federal republic of germany it was and is prohibited to show symbols with swastica or other Nazi-symbolisms !!!!
Therefore never blood-order or other original World-war-decorations with swastica were allowed to present them on ribbon bars !!!!!!
This is well known but do you mean that it would have been technically allowed to officially wear a de-swasticafied Blutorden in post-war Germany? Wasn't the entire award forbidden? All political and civil NSDAP originated awards? After all one of the most, if not the most Nazified award from before and during the NS era.

Monsieur le docteur,

please have a look at the "Ordensgesetz"
http://www.struemer-phaleristik.de/57/o ... _vom_.html

The so-called Blutorden was not allowed (also not without swastika !!) in the Federal Republic.
