Modern recordings/use of Third Reich music

Hi folks, I've followed this topic for quite a while and seen have many threads/links to original German military marches and songs. I would like to ask the following question, The German military have always had a strong tradition during imperial and TR times of using martial music and "soldatenlieder", sung by I assume real people at the time., My question is, post war, what was the attitude towards this type of music?

I have in my collection several Vynyl LP records from the 1960's (for those who grew up with CD's, and MP3's, and too young to remember, these were bits of plastic, with music recorded on them, and played on a record player), these were songs and marchial music played and sung by the post-war Bundeswehr and include songs such as Funkerlied, panzerlied, Prussiens Gloria etc etc.
My question is, does the modern Bundeswher, atoday, actually still encourage it's members to participate in singing these traditional songs or is it now frowned upon?

I'm looking for some information on some post-war recordings of some Fallschirmjäger-songs. They can be found on the internet, sometimes as war-time recordings. "Abgeschmiert aus hundert Metern" is one of these recordings.

Any information would be appreciated.

I was listening to Erika and it has no Nat-Soc attributes. A cadence song. Still in use?

The "Panzerlied" does not pre-date the NS era, it was originally an NS song. See: /viewtopic.php?f=81&t=21189#p736416
As far as I know, it is still used in Chile (they even played one of its NS arrangements, see: viewtopic.php?f=81&t=209600).

Correct, "Erika" is not an NS song, it's an ordinary soldiers' love song from 1938; not sure whether it's still being sung, but I remember watching a video of BW recruits singing another song by the same composer a couple of years ago: "Es ist so schön, Soldat zu sein".

I don't know whether "Wenn die Soldaten" is still being sung in the army, but it's a pre-1871 song anyway = not from "the era".

No...! It's an early Wehrmacht cover of an NS song (the earliest known publishing date of the song: 1936; Panzertruppe formation date: 1935).

Lots of modern Bundeswehr songs date back to WW2 or earlier and sung by the Wehrmacht. A FJ decorated for gallantry in Afghanistan swore it was so. The FJ songs refer to honours for 3rd Reich era victories.

I came across a particular set of modern records of Third Reich era Songs, and I'm curious as to which group made it. Attached below are some sample sound files of performances made by the group I am pertaining to. I heard that the Bundeswehr did make recordings back in the late 1980s of such songs for historical purposes, could it be that these recordings are from the same CD?

I really just wish to satisfy my curiosity, if any of you have any information as to what exactly this is, please let me now.

Without even playing them, I knew which tracks you had in mind And we've mentioned them in the past a couple of times (here). I still don't know who performed them, but they all originate from Documentary Series LPs/CDs: "Der Reichsarbeitsdienst" (DS-1375 & 1376), "Die deutsche Luftwaffe" (DS-1380 & 1381) and "Die deutsche Kriegsmarine" (DS-1385 & 1386).

Well, Bundeswehr bands made quite a few recordings of Third Reich music, I don't know which particular album you had in mind. The most controversial one was a homage to the Waffen-SS by Heeresmusikkorps 5 (it was previously mentioned here and here).

This is an interesting record, but I think I'm talking about something else, from the information I know, it contained at least these songs

From what I know, this particular CD I'm mentioning was released in the 80s (1987 maybe?) and was created for educational purposes since some academic groups back then were supposedly worried of records of these songs being lost.

Bundeswehr bands never recorded such tracks nor compiled them in an album. Those are all Third Reich period recordings. The only CD containing all four songs that comes to my mind was compiled by Neonazi pirates called RMK in the 1990s, and it's not really worthy of discussing.
