Am I the youngest nephew....of I am age 37
Its awkward explaining that really Latvians were well totally victimized my uncle also recalled fleeing in poland being made to walk past a pile of dead bodies in the snow or join them on the way to school by the Nazis....his step mother ( my grandmother) was certainly not complimenting you when she called you a Nazi she just had a worse epithet Soviet
My Uncle who wasin is my fathers half brother....this generated even greater irony into a US military story.

After Latvia fell to the Soviets my Uncle told me stories about guarding a base where he saw an airplane without propellors take off.

My father was born After the War and like his brother born 1935 is a Vietnam vet.

I'm wondering if anyone on here could help me out?
I have been researching my family tree and would like to find information on my grandfather's time in the Latvian legion.
His name is Augusts Emilis Ice and he was born in Ranka, gulbene region of latvia in 1914.
As far as I know, he was a cook within the german army?

If no one has any info, a place to start looking in terms of documents to search would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Holly

Then I asked if he was sure but never got an answer to that question.
Now I did find that answer myself.
Harry Behrndt(most likely no Dr. before his name)was Apotheker within SS-Sanitäts-Abteilung 15 ánd Apotheker from the Abteilung IVb within the Staff from the 15. Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS.

Correct me if I'm wrong please.
Greetings, Mike
