In the spring of 1943 the United States agreed to a request by China and Chennault to create a Chinese American Composite Air Wing as a technology transfer program. The initial agreement called for 80 p -40's and 40 B -25s. By August training was underway and the B -25 were flying combat missions by November 1943. The P-40's made it over the hump for the spring 1944 campaign. That should have completed the agreement. But the air wing seems to have grown to include virtually the entire Chinese AirForce, by Jan 1945 P 51's are showing up and in March the P 38's. Was there a subsequent agreement? if so when? Early in 1944 Geroge C. Marshall was unhappy with the numbers of transport aircraft having to go to the CBI. Thus the C 46's and C 47 are a surprise. Are these 1945 deliveries after the XX Air Force deplaned for the Marianas? Any aviation historian that can--please do. What it comes to aviation history I'm a blank page. MTIA
