I don't have to much information unfortunately and can not tell exactly when he was there. But I know, that then he was in Italy, Triest. Furthermore he lived for long time in Berlin and was in the army of Mammedamin Rasulzade.
He was in Germany from 1941 to approximately 1949-1951.
And he has been in Brazil too.
do you think, you can help me?
He told me about Warszawa, about people, he had frends there.

The Inf.Rgt. 314, part of the Art.Rgt. and one Kp. of the Nachr.Abt. of the 162. (turk.) Inf.Div. were formed by people from Aserbeidschan.
The 162. was in the area of Triest around late 1943 and 1944.

Re: Aserbeidschanische Infanterie Bataillon 818
Hello everyone,
I'm researching the fate of Major Artur Gaumnitz, since 6.6.1943 Bataillonsführer of the "Wolga-Tatarisches Infanterie Bataillon 828", also called "Legion IDEL-URAL".
From October 1944, he was Bataillonsführer / Major in the "Aserbeidschanisches Infanterie Bataillon 818".
Missing in action near Sieradz (Poland) since late januari 1945 during the retreat battle at the river Vistula.
I hope someone can help me with more information about both battalions, the retreat battles near Sieradz or Major Gaumnitz.
Thank you!
Mark
