first 2 photos were already posted on this forum yesterday http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 8&t=147051
please look at the previous threads before posting another photos ... just to avoid of asking for identification of people who were already identified.

These photos appear to have been taken on different days. Look at the uniform Eigruber is wearing. One is black Allgemeine-SS, the other is not. Also, Himmler's trousers are different.

Hello Max,

So I have noticed as well, I think it must been three different occasions because I have seen him in three different uniforms of all the photos from Mauthausen.

I believe there are 2 tours, one with SD/WVHA personnel which included the Quarry and one with Waffen SS officers where there dont appear to be any of that group heading for the Quarry.

There is one more occasion which looks like it appears in 1943-44 and Eigruber is wearing a political uniform.
Ans then the other two occasions when he is in black uniform and one grey.

Best reg.

It's extremely unlikely that any visiting group would fail to include the quarry in a tour of Mauthausen KL as that was the main reason for the camp to be located there.
The man in side profile with the long raincoat in the centre next to Himmler in picture 3 looks remarkably like Franz Kutschera.

On the 5th pic down, the SS officer 3rd from the left I believe is the Gestapo rep at the
Camp, the name escapes me for the moment.
On the other Mauthausen pics from Wikipedia,I am sure Bittrich is there also as SS Oberf.

And here's the evidence.....Hausser climbing up the quarry steps.

This series of incredible photos is the nexus of almost the entire SS organization -- RFSS, Waffen SS, Camp inspectorate and SS economic enterprises, the camp system itself, Gestapo, and HSSPF (Kaltenbrunner) -- under one roof, or Quarry, as it may be. I am still curious as to the specific purpose of the visit beyond a "dog and pony show". Himmler at this time was certainly pondering the expansion of the Waffen SS in preparation for the war in the East, and both Mauthausen and Auschwitz had the largest guard contingents at the time that would be available as personnel replacements once the campaign began. Its obvious that Hausser may have pushed for this also, and Himmler the "educator" also an opportunity to show the front line SS the "valauble work" being done behind the wire. Not much the most rabid Waffen SS apologists can say about this visual documentation.
