Thank you, Guy but.....What exact model is the "Russian 152mm high power gun" ??
I know the 152mm M1910 Schneider-Putilov model but I think it is not the same model than the gun of my image...

Hello,

It is a russian 152 mm Canet coast gun used in land warfare. It was transported in two loads:
-the barrel (the photograph in 522 Topic).
-the coast mount.
The two loads were tracted each by a Caterpillar 75 HP.
I have two photographs of a same gun and his mount from an album of Otto Mertens (Fliegerabteilung A 242).

I guess that you refers to the 152mm Canet M1892 L45 Russian coastal gun
It would be very interesting to see your images as I never have seen this gun in land use in fire position.

The Batterie is in Calais ( Bastion II ), the building is unknown for me and is gone .

Thanks jos! Strange building! It was demolished by the Germans somewhere in 1941/1942. Afterwards it became the area of Wn Dogge.

For the answer to the 522, 526 to 529 topics, I enclose a detail of my photograph of the coast carriage (152 mm Canet coast gun) tracted by an 75 HP Holt caterpillar. The other photograph is the same of the referenced photograph in 529 topic.
For the guns on the field, see the beautiful book "Artillery of the Russian Army in WW 1" (in russian!), difficult to buy in these years!

Hello Sturm, the 28cm Küstenhaubitze were used in Battery 724

- 21.11.1939 - aufgestellt gemäß Befehl Chef H. Rüst. u. B.d.E. vom 16.11.1939 im
Wehrkreis XI durch 1./schwere Artillerie-Ersatz-Abteilung (mot.) 55 in Braunschweig
- Bewaffnung: 3 x 28 cm Küstenhaubitze L/12
- 11.12.1939 – XXX. Armeekorps – eingetroffen auf Bahnhof Lebach
- 11.12.1939 – wird nach Honzrath/Saarland transportiert, wo der feldmäßige Einbau erfolgt – wird der 214. Infanterie-Division unterstellt (Bettungen fehlen noch)
- 18.12.1939 – Notiz XXX. Armeekorps – „Laut Gutachten Festungs-Pionier-Stab 2 wird Feuerbereitschaft erst ab März 1940 hergestellt sein.“
- Stand 15.01.1940 - O.K.H./Org. Abt., Kriegsgliederung des Feldheeres - gelistet als schwere Stellungs-Batterie 724 unter Stellungsartillerie im Bereich der 1. Armee

- 13.2.1940 – Bericht der schweren Stellungs-Batterie 724 über Einbau der Geschütze:
- 13.12.1939 – Erkundung der Stellung, Absteckung der Geschützstände und der Stollen, Geschützstände vermessen
- Es standen durchschnittlich täglich 60 Arbeitskräfte der eigenen Batterie und 80 Mannschaften zugeteilter Baukräfte zur Verfügung. Arbeitsdauer 60 Tage
- Folgende Bauten wurden ausgeführt: 1.) Tarnung der Batterieanlage, 2.) Anlage des Zuführweges von 450 m Länge und 4 m Breite (für Heranführung der Schwerstlasten), 3.) Aushebung von 3 Bettungsgruben (gesamt 350 cbm Erdreich), 4.) Bau der Stollen, 5.) Bau von 3 Baracken
- Zur Heranführung der Schwerstlasten (Geschütze) wurden je 2 Zugkraftwagen 18 t für 20 Tage benötigt – darin enthalten: 3 Rohre mit Wiege (je 18 t), 3 Lafetten mit eingeschraubter Holzbettung (je 35 t), 54 Bettungsbalken je 6 – 7 m lang zu 30 x 30 cm, 11 Munitionskarren, Geschützzubehör und Ersatzteile
- Dauer Einbau Lafette und Rohr je Geschütz: 12 Tage

- 1.6.1940 – bei A.O.K. 1/Höheres Kommando XXXXV
- 5.6.1940 – Notiz B.d.E. – „steht zur Aufstellung von Küstenbatterien zur Verfügung: bei A.O.K. 1 …. Personal-Batterie der Stellungs-Batterie 724“ – die Einheit ist durch Militärbefehlshaber Belgien unmittelbar bei A.O.K. anzufordern
- 23.6.1940 – Notiz O.K.H./General der Artillerie – „Neuaufstellung kommt nicht in Frage.“
- 24.7.1940 – aufgelöst
