Sturm78,

The motor driven machine on your photo in the post #512 has something to do with a wire/cable running out/in of the above two drums visible,
also the Luftwaffe soldier is "watching" something on some kind of a "screen"..?

Motor, gas tank and cooling system in the lower part of the machine, clearly recognizable, the rest of this machine is a mystery to me, sorry? :?

Balloon/Glider winch, cable/wire much to thin..?

That looks like a pump not a generator.

This is purely a guess, but it can't hurt.

I suspect it might be used for tensioning power and telephone cables that are being run. The horizontal nature of the cable going out and its size could be indicative of that. On a long run over many telephone poles, power would be necessary to get the cable pulled to the proper tension setting. It's possible this is a machine for doing something like that.

This is what a modern version looks like.

Hi Sturm 78,

You are right, that is a small generator. It is a DKW KL 100 or C1. Here a pic of such a generator (source: http://www.fahrzeuge-der-wehrmacht.de/A ... egate.html). This generator was used for operating a radio or charging a storage battery.

Best regards

Bert

Sturm78,

the machine with the keyboard on the right side in the train (?) looks like a "Fernschreiber" (teletype).
The electrical installation behind the "Fernschreiber" shows a "Wählscheibe" (Dial), right below, if my old eyes do not deceive me... :?
