You could also say the same thing about aircraft carriers...

Re: 1.443-billion RM
Investing the money saved in Six H-Class battleships amounting to 1.443-billion RM, more tanks and weapons and a lot changes. With more tanks and SP guns for the Panzer and the Anti-tank Gun Problems make a big difference in the battles of Stalingrad and Kursk.

Re: Building H-class Battleships
Except the Z-Plan had already been ditched shortly after the start of the war. So, the money saved in the H-Class battleships has already been spent. Considering, the majority of the H-Class battleships were never laid down and had little, if any, any pre-production build-up of materials, your "Idea" that all that tonnage can be spent on other things is blatantly FALSE!
As has been said before; Battleship H had 5.800 tons of material delivered, Battleship J had 3,531 tons of material delivered, and Battleship K had 2,980 tons delivered. Giving you 12,311 tons of material delivered for the H-Class battleships.
nebelwerferXXX, you really should stop and think before about what you posting...

Re: Building H-class Battleships
'Z-plan'...The RM 5,050,500,000, would also be 25 Bismarck-Class battleships, 21 Type XXI submarines, 67,000 rifles and 80 heavy machine guns for the German Navy. They can be organized into 12 surface action groups and one U-boat wolf-pack. This post is only a conversion estimate. Posting numbers is my forte, so forgive me.nebelwerferXXX wrote:A Research Study: H-Class battleshipsnebelwerferXXX wrote:21 H-Class battleships = RM 5,050,500,000, enough to build 878 Type XXI U-boats.

Re: Building H-class Battleships
What do this have to do with anything historically concerning the H-Class battleships, especially since the Germans only intended to build 6 H-Class battleships?

On page 1, read the first post of eadweard dated 05 May 2009 about the H-Class battleships...etc. etc.Takao wrote:What do this have to do with anything historically concerning the H-Class battleships, especially since the Germans only intended to build 6 H-Class battleships?

Posting numbers or lists maybe your forte but without context they are just that-lists of numbers. They have no relation to anything without an explanation of how and why you reached your numbers or lists!nebelwerferXXX wrote:'Z-plan'...The RM 5,050,500,000, would also be 25 Bismarck-Class battleships, 21 Type XXI submarines, 67,000 rifles and 80 heavy machine guns for the German Navy. Re: Building H-class Battleships
Hello! To make a sentence construction of the computed summary, and it begins with the 'Z-plan' battleship program and called for the first 6 H-Class battleships to be completed by 1945. The Naval High Command have calculated and made a research study that after the completion of the first 6 battleships, they made a conclusion that there was a possibility to add 15 more H-Class battleships starting from 1946 and ending in 1951.
In my previous post, I made a tabulation of battleship building by year and came to a total tonnage of 1,176,000 tons and costing about RM 5,050,500,000. Since these 21 ships were not feasible to construct, I made a conversion estimate by sub-dividing the total cost from the RM 5,050,500,000 by getting the unit costs of the following:
RM 197-million for Bismarck-Class battleships
RM 5,750,000 for Type XXI submarines
RM 70 for rifles and
RM 737 for the heavy machine guns
And came to a computed final figures of 25 Bismarck-Class battleships, 21 Type XXI submarines, 67,000 rifles and 80 heavy machine guns.
I also found out and made a decision that, it was easier to make a calculation from the total cost per unit than the total standard tonnage in making a conversion estimate. That was my experience in making those listings. Thanks!

Re: Building H-class Battleships
And what is the special interest of these figures? Why those and not, for example, 24 Bismarck-Class battleships, 55 Type XXI submarines, 70,000 rifles and 1,830 heavy machine-guns? Or any other of the many, equally-correct combinations that can be obtained from the simple calculations that you made?nebelwerferXXX wrote:And came to a computed final figures of 25 Bismarck-Class battleships, 21 Type XXI submarines, 67,000 rifles and 80 heavy machine guns.
