Hi all,

I have some doubts with the mortar of image 3. Is it an 8cm Granatwerfer 34 or an 10cm Nebelwerfer 35 ?
This mortar have characteristics of both models, See the circles

Hi v60pih,

According to the book "The Austro-Hungarian artillery from 1867 to 1918" this would be the 26cm Skoda M16...I think it is a very different design.... :?

10 cm NW 35. The giveaway is the traversing screw going through the sleeve under the barrel.

Hi Sturm, there were two models, Mod. 1916 and Mod. 1917 ; both produced by Skoda .
Yours photo is of Mod. 1917 (after WW1 it remained in use in the new Austrian Army).
from a book of F. Cappellano.jpg
M. 1916 and M. 1917 together
from a book of B. Marcuzzo & F. Cappellano.jpg
model 1916 with undercarriage buried in the ground
Best regards, Shultz

Thank you very much for your help, Shultz...

In the cited book (The Austro-Hungarian artillery from 1867 to 1918) only is mentioned the 26cm Skoda M17..... :?

Hi Karlik, your photo shows an Ansaldo prototype of an 81 mm mortar, proposed to the "Royal Italian Army" in the 1930s.
It has not been adopted, so we cannot call it "Mod. 1931", because the denomination with the year was given only to the materials adopted by the Italian army or Italian navy (or by some foreign state). Our producers did not indicate the year if the artillery was not adopted.
For our convenience we can use this year indication, but knowing that it is not official.
Regards, Shultz
