The official AHF France quiz thread

#1

Post by Marcus » 18 Aug 2009, 19:39

We've had several different quizes running here in the forum for a while with great success and this new section has been open for a long while without one, so I'm starting one here too.

The rules are very simple:
The first one to post the correct answer to a question, posts a new question (must be on France during the 1919-1945 period) and so on.

Good evening, Marcus!

Just to save the new quiz from pre-mature slowing down... The answer is French State (État Français)

Best regards, Aleks

All good things in life are either illegal, or immoral, or make you fat.

Hrvoje, with such statements on AHF quizes, you’re at risk that some of forum member tells you
'You don't know Jack Schitt' :(

To avoid such case, use this link for fighter pilots:

or simply read this info (third post from the bottom)

Good evening, Edge!

You are quite right (as usual :) ). This is really Roland de la Poype, ace from "Normandie-Niemen" regiment. My source is http://aerostories.free.fr/pil_cha_fr/poype/page2.html
Over to you now!
P.S. Thanks for useful link about fighter aces!

Best regards, Aleks

Sorry for delay - new question:

A French general was POW first in 1914 and later in 1940. He escaped from captivity both times! He also got Légion d'Honneur for a very famous Interwar episode.

Who was he?
