Re: 15cm K18 questions
Correct, also the barrel is too long and slender to be the 21cm Mörser 18, thus it is the 17cm K-18 in Mörser Lafette. The small rollers helped to guide the barrel over the cradle upon recoil.

Re: 15cm K18 questions
One key to ID'ing a 15cm K-18 barrel when you cannot see the whole thing and/or it is covered by a tarp as in this case, is the size and shape of the breech ring, which on the 15cm sFH-18, the 21cm Mörser 18 and the 17cm K-18 in Mörser Lafette was almost a perfect cube in size and shape and rather high sided in relation to its interface with the barrel, whereas with the 15cm K-18 it was longer and rectangular with distinct beveled edges, and was not as high sided.jopaerya wrote:Hello All

Re: 15cm K18 questions
Hi Guys,
I recently obtained original 1:10 plans of the 15cm K18. What is interesting is that one of the plans states that it is of the 15cm K18 in a coastal defence position, but just shows the gun on its bog-standard turntable. What is even more interesting is that the drawings are dated 1944. Does anyone know why drawings of the gun were being produced this late in the war? Uwe was kind enough to let me know that the 15cm K18 was used for coastal defence from 1941,which begs the question really as to the drawings being dated 1944.
Best regards and thanks in advance,
Nezar
