Re: New excavation - 101v bunker
when do you intend to open the sealed doorway ? are you waiting till you have railings round the trench like the others or just waiting for labour?

The bunker should be opened up in late January if all goes well and, in stead of safety railings, the entrance will be covered over with mesh to allow people to walk over it which was a stipulation put on by the planning departmentford369 wrote:when do you intend to open the sealed doorway ? are you waiting till you have railings round the trench like the others or just waiting for labour?

Some photos of the excavated entrance.

The bunker was found to still retain all of its doors as well as the pipework for the ventilation.
A practically never seen on Jersey text was also found on the wall
Enjoy

- Original hard board sheets. All the walls were battoned out and lined in hard board after they were painted and decorated. The white areas on the walls where the hard board ended can be see in various parts of the crew room

Wow very nice one!
Cool decorations!
So what about the 101v designation? Does it only resemble it or is exact?

Can you post a plan of a 101v as you recognise it and I will let you know if it's the same as the examples on Jersey
Nice update on 'BunkerBlog' by the way!

Re: New excavation - 101v bunker
nice looking bunker and good to see some new bunker art turning up,what are the plans for this bunker now ? is a door being fitted or is it being left open as I would hate to see it covered in graffiti inside after surviving so well since the war
