Re: Id. naval guns
Hello Sturm78 ,
last photo shows :
15 cm Tbts KC/36
your photos from 23 Dec 2009 :
hmm, good questions !
only sure of the shield which is a 10,5 cm MPLC/28
Conflicting information in the sources ,the
gun could be a :
- 10,5 cm SKC/28 ( Type 23 )
- 12,7 cm SKC/25 ( Bremse )
- 12,7 cm SKC/34 ( Luch + Leopard )
regards
ludvig

Re: Id. naval guns
Hi Ludvig. Thank you very much for your answer.
About the guns of my images of 23 Dec 2009: I had never heard of a 12.7cm SK C/25.
I know 10.5cm SK C/28, 10.5cm SK C/32 and 12.7cm SK C/34
Regards Sturm78

Re: Id. naval guns
Hello Sturm78 ,
The 12,7 cm SKC/25 is mentioned in M.J.
Whitley : German coastal forces of World
War Two page 160 :
" As completed , Bremse was armed with
four 12,7 cm SKC/25 guns - - - .These guns
had orginally been intended for the Type
23 torpedo boats but had not shipped because
of political objections "
Have little info , but J belive that these are test
guns for the 12,7 cm SKC/34 . John Campell :
Naval Weapons of World War Two page 246 writes
under 12,7 cm SKC/34 :
" Some of the earlier guns were bored 10,5 cm SKC/28 "
So 10,5 cm SKC/28 , 12,7 cm SKC/25 and early 12,7 cm
SKC/34 are a tricky minefield - - -
But you can see it by the ammo , 10,5 cm uses complete
rounds and 12,7 cm SKC/34 seperate ammo
J have feeling of your photos could by from early Bremse
regards
ludvig

Re: Id. naval guns
Well, I would not trust a single source information of this kind knowing that neither the MDv198 nor Rheinmetall documents lists a gun named 12,7 cm SKC/25.ludvig wrote:Hello Sturm78 ,

My best guess is that the gun in question is a 12,7 cm SKC/34 in 10,5 cm MPLC/28 if it has separate shell and charge or a 10,5 cm SKC/28 in 10,5 cm MPLC/28 if it has a fixed round. (Look-alikes on some distance)
The German sources list two versions of the 12,7 cm SKC/34:
in 10,5 cm MPLC/28 with at total weiht of 7970 kg
in 12,7 cm MPLC/34 with a total weight of 12180 kg.

Hi Ludvig and Guz, and thanks for your answers.
Well, it seems that the question about the 12.7cm SK C/25 gun is not very clear

Hello
Added a photo bought some years ago. Is it possible to id the gun ?
Another thing..the picture was bought with another taken near Languedoc-Port Vendres. Any idea if this picture is taken in that area ? Seems like there is a old fortress on the hill behind.
