Thanks Ole for the very interesting pic. I see it' is a good thing that i didn't started the model yet. Do you by any chance know the fuselage&undersides colours of the plane (green or brown which makes more sense)? It is obviously not the standard german production (doped linen with black trimming) and is reminiscent of Fokker E-III's darker colour. Good note on the elevator national markings (i have to scrounge a few more as they are not provided in the kit).

Since you are an exper in the field could you perhaps explain the marking on the wing on the linked photo?
It is interesting as i see such marking on the airplane wing for the first time (on tails of after ww1 planes yes but on wings???).

Before the war the standard marking on Ottoman military aircraft was a star and crescent under the wings on an orange background and a star and crecent on the tailfin. When the war started and maybe before many non-standard markings were devised. There exist a photo of the Pfalz on the link when it was crashed and it shows that the star and crescent was kind of incorporated in a roundel. All these details have surfaced during recent research in the turkish archives when I was preparing for the official TUAF book on its 100 year anniversary next year. The book includes ALL TUAF aircraft in service 650 pages more than 1200 photos.
Enclosed is a prewar Bleriot Penguin showing an underwing roundel.
Regards
Ole
