eBay Help: Are these binoculars worth this price?

Hello everyone,

Can someone tell me if these WWII binoculars are worth the almost $600.00 they are currently getting on eBay?

I find it hard to believe this pair of binoculars is worth this kind of money.

Yes you are right, this is way to much. Even by some militaria dealers they are cheaper.

With regards, Benno

As you already probably know, there are MANY rip-off items on Ebay.

Recently a motorcycle sold on Ebay as a authentic "1908 racer" for $14,000.

In fact it was a TOTAL fake made from newer motorcycle and bicycle parts.

Thanks for your replies guys. Someone in Madrid Spain paid almost $600.00 for these. But then I found this pair going for $1000.00 so I can't tell if these binoculars are worth the money or the guy got a good deal!

Don't bother looking at the collectors guild, their prices are way too high.

I have bought some good optics via eBay but would certainly agree that some items are over priced and would be mindful of what is reasonable and what is not price wise.
Some sets described as U-Boat are not...in particular the rubber armoured leitz sets...some of the regular sellers set high reserves which are impossible , but good buys can be had.
The two sets in question...the UZO I had serious money on Ville's piece but was unable to watch the close of the sale and lost out.
The bakalite set I would not look at them ...no offence meant but way to expensive.
I would agree again regarding some sets sold on Collectors Guild....to date I have only seen one good rare set which was at reasonable money.
If buying on eBay ask plenty of questions regarding condition and state of the optical surfaces , if a set looks to mint has it been touched up ?
If in doubt ask.....Hans Seegers books or Steve Rohans are worth a look prior to buying anything.
Attached a good set of Kreigsmarine Glasses which didn't break the bank via eBay.
