SS-Kriegsberichter Kjaer

Post by -Michael » 18 Jan 2010 18:37

Has somebody any information about the Danish (?) SS-Kriegsberichter Ulf Kjaer? He served as Rundfunkberichter with the SS-Kriegsberichter-Halbzug d. SS-Freiw.-Sturmbrigade Langemarck.
And are there maybe pictures of him?

Hi
I was not aware that Kjär has been into the Brigade Langemarck, do you have any doc relating to that for my information.
Kjär was asigned Landesgruppenleiter in the danish DNSAP party, for a short time leader of a section named
"Strenght through Joy" which was part of the womens section in the party, short lived it was disbanded 1942.
He also made some political education inside the danish NS part of the RAD and further for danish Workers in
Germany

Later he was asigned as a Prop.leader in the "Wachkorps der deutschen Luftwaffe in Dänemark" known allmost as
the Captain Sommers Corps(named after a danish LW fighter Pilot and early NS figure in DK)

I have in my collection some Educationletters numbered 1-6 for "Der Germanische SS-Sturmbanne Dänemark"
Abt.Schulung signed SS Rttf.Ulf Kjär
These letters are machinewritten and bears different titles like no.3 "Nationalsocialismus und seine Historische
Erstehen-Den Versailler Diktat und Bund des Volkes....

I have only this picture of Kjär taken from the danish NS paper "Fädrelandet" sorry no year to put on it.

Ulf Kjær would have been Rundfunkberichter in the SS-Kriegsberichter-Halbzug d. SS-Freiw.-Sturmbrigade Langemarck in Cerewinnewka on 17.2.1944.
This information comes from ‘Vlaanderen in Uniform’, as sources a letter of the Zugführer, SS-Oscha. Raf van Hulse, and the ‘Kleiner Berichter Kurier’, magazine of the SS-Kriegsberichter-Abtl. are mentioned.
I was wondering, could this maybe be Kjær on the picture below? Same glasses, only fitter, he would probably have looked a lot fitter after the Waffen-SS cuisine.
These pictures where taken in the radio studios of ‘Zender Brussel’ on 18.12.1943:

Now, I was wondering, do you know the name of following Danish SS-Kriegsberichter:
This photo was shot during a trip of SS-Kriegsberichter in Flanders, this photo was taken on 14.8.1943 in Brussels, the other men are Dr. Hendrik Elias and SS-Kriegsberichter Desseyn:

Hi
Some very interesting pictures.
I only have Flandern in Uniform # 2,4, and 6, so I might have slipped the information.
I have been making some research in the meantime, the man on your pic, I`m not sure, they both might only have the
glasses in common, I do not think it is Kjär, at this time in 1943 he was assigned to the LW Wachkorps,

The Germanische Sturmbann Dänemark was created in april 1942 and located firstly in Hamburg and it has nothing
to do with the danish Germanic SS(The Schalburg-Corps) but was a part-freetime organisation mainly for danish
foregin workers in Germany. It was closed down in january 1943 on behalf of the german authority. The "Newsletters"
I have is not dated. I have included a page here. Some of the papers is asigned to SS-Hauptamt Abt.D II
Abt.Schulung, so maybee something can be found there.
Here is what I have located in the DNSAP membershipbook
Ulf Fritz Christian Kjär born 12.11.1897 Copenhagen, writer, adress Sumatravej 22, Copenhagen,
DNSAP member 3.5.1941

I do not know the other danish KB man, but I have another pic of him, I`m also searching for his name...
Included is a pic, unknown SS PK Eggers man in Gent.

You can google the name, when it opens, please click at the text I have written here, the you
can hear Ulf Kjär Broadcasting on the 21.7.1944 to Denmark from Berlin, the extract is, news about
life in Berlin during Bombardement and rumours about Hitler should have been killed in the Stauffenberg attack
the cast in called "Der Führer Lebt"
The Broadcast date can also be used to locate where Kjär was at the time.

I can paste the text, I won`work.

While you are at it,

should you have information about the swedish Kriegsberichter Krieger/kriger ?

He may have fled to Argentina after the war.

Hi
Happy to know you could use the information.

You might think about Hans-Caspar Krueger, I have a picture of him, there is a lot about him in

Schön,Bosse: Hitlers Svenske Soldater and another from the same man, Svenskerne som stred for Hitler(Hitlers
Swedish Soldiers and The Swedes that fought for Hitler), the books are in Swedish.

He was born in Alvesta, Sweden, but I have not researched anything at the moment, do you think he can
bee seen via Google?

Are you into War Corrrespondents ? It`s one of my interests, but also the Germaansche SS Flandern and all other
Belgian subjets..

Hallo Hallandsen, thank you very much for the information!
And sorry, but I don’t have a name for the SS-Uscha. in Gent, most of the participants of the trip trough Flanders in August 1943 I could indentify, besides the Flemish SS-Kriegsberichter, there where some Germans, SS-Ostuf. Gösling and SS-Oscha. Vierbücher, the Dutch SS-Uscha. Kettmann, the Danish SS-Rttf. from who I don’t have a name, and according to the information I found, there where also one or more Norwegian SS-Kriegsberichter.
I’m also interested in the Germanische SS and the collaboration in Flanders during the war. For some time now I’m collecting information about all Flemish SS-Kriegsberichter, a little bit inspirited by the work ‘Nederlandse SS-Oorlogsverslaggevers’ from Groeneveld.
But it’s not easy to find correct information about the personal of the SS-Kriegsberichter-Züge LSSAH, Das Reich, Totenkopf, Wiking, …
Do you maybe know a good source?
And if I can help you, about SS-Kriegsberichter, or the collaboration in Flanders, you can always contact me:
langemarck@live.be

Thanks,
Mike.

Hi
Acording to KB and Standarte "Kurt Eggers", I may recommand some fairly new books which I have:

Krause,Werner H: SS Standarte Kurt Eggers-Die Propagandaeinheit der Waffen-SS Jm Zweiten Weltkrieg.
Druffel & Vowinckel, Stegen am Ammersee, 2009, several pics and docs listing members, interesting

Kaden,Eric: Kurt Eggers-Vom Freikorps zur Waffen-SS
Winkelried Verlag,Dresden, 2008 a Biographi (hard to find, not be sold in Germany as forbidden by youthlaw!)

Kaden,Eric: Das Wort als Waffe-Der Propagandaeinheit der Waffen-SS und die SS Standarte Kurt Eggers
Winkelried Verlag,Dresden 2009, with pics and doks,
This book include a facsimilie of pamflet "SS-Frw.Sturmbrigade Langemarck-Flanderns Söhne kämpfen für
Europa.Herausgegeben vom SS-Standarte "Kurt Eggers" Kriegsberichterzug Langemarck. Gedruckt Jn Prag.

The book has a Dienstrangliste der Standarte KE from 11.12.1944 with several int.names, Krueger and others.
some danes(Chr.Zarp,Johnsen, a.o)but not Kjär.

This Eric Kaden doesn’t sound very objective to me. Who is this Werner Krause actually? Is he to be trusted?
By the way, the book you are talking about, it’s very rare, and I have it in my collection (in Dutch) under the name ‘Vlaanderen te Weer!’
