To understand you am I right in thinking that the 45mm AT guns with short barrels were not fitted with solid wheels when they were made in the factory - so these guns in the photos I posted are conversions by Soldiers in the field or by the museum as they could not get spoked wheels?
Hello again, Larry. Sorry for not answering for a long time.
Personally I think that wheels with five holes are field conversions, but the one photographed by V. V. Kuzmin can be a transitional model between 53K and M-42. I asked Yu. I. Pasholok, a historical researcher who is working in the museum the latter one is exhibited. He said that the wheels are original and he will try to look for some additional information about this wheels, but he still has sent my nothing else.
With best regards, Ilya.

Two pictures from ebay.de of the gun with the five-hole solid wheels, possibly re-used here by the Germans.

And another picture in the winter (German or Red Army soldiers?)

This 45mm AT gun dates from the Spanish Civil War so presumably is an early version.

4.5 cm Pak 184(r): How many in German Service?

One would think the Germans must have been swimming in captured Russian Paks by December 1941. Anyone have an idea how many were captured?
