Hi Nobby,
do not too much faith in identification from archives. The emblem looks like the late-war version of that from U 558. Certainly not U 759.

Re: U-boats Emblems
Hello Axel and Pascal.
I am very disappointed to learn that I cannot rely on the HMA archive. I assumed that it is part of U boote museum at Cuxhaven
which surely is accurate? The image I and Pascal have seen is for sale!!! How do we tell people that they are not buying an image of U 759? That image then should be with the archive of U 558. I am at a lost as to what to belive now! Is there Father Christmas???
Danke Axel, Merci Pascal!

Re: U-boats Emblems
Hi Nobby,
first of all, nobody is perfect. But I agree with you, that services offered for money should have a high degree of accuracy. In our case, this is obviously not so. Expertise is something you cannot buy, but it takes hard work. Self-declared experts are everywhere now in our world, but this is not going to solve the problem. Hence, you will always run the risk to get wrong information as long as you do not know better. So mate, you better raise your own status quickly!
Anyway, please note that the HMA and the DUBM, from where you took your pic, are two totally separate institutions, which do not collaborate intentionally, although they both share the interest in U-boats.

Re: U-boats Emblems
Hi Axel
Thanks for the advice and duly noted.
Due to my status not improving I will no longer be posting anything as I am "fed up" with always being wrong.
I will be watching the forum for things of interest
Many thanks for all your help
Have a happy Christmas
Regards
Nobby

Hi Nobby,
I am sure your "fed up"-status will not last any longer than until tonight. You are doing a magnificent job in unearthing all this stuff in the net. After a good match by the Reds the world will be your friend again. Hopefully the forum staff is going to raise your status soon owing to your merits in 2017.
Nice weekend!!
Axel

Hi Axel
Let's hope so!
Here is a fact that I do know, from 1954 until 1956, when not at school in WHV . I resided with my parents at 28 Wilhelm Busch Strasse Bielefeld!!! Near but not in the Military Prison! Your hometown?

Hi Nobby,
yes, I am from Bielefeld, the city that never was according to some poeple. Home, sweet home! And my heart still goes with Arminia Bielefeld, which will hopefully return into the Bundesliga one day.
