Hi Second boat is most likely U 759 leaving Lorient on it's last patrol in June 1943.

New find on ebay.de last week but seems to have disappered!
U 414 showing staw hat and diving boat
Hatband has writing on it ? stern?
Anybody seen this before???

Hi Nobby

perfect work! The writing on the hat says "Niemals" [At no time, never]. Underneath the hat is probably the stern section of a steeply diving U-boat with a white swirl above it. I am not sure about the dark longitudinal structure left. It does not look like a shadow of something above, so it could be a part of the Emblem.

However, the boat on the pic is certainly not U 414 from all the visible features.

Pikap believes it could be Howalds boat U 371?
On the site, the next image is crew and commander but I do not know name
