Re: Flak on rails
12,8cm Flak on wagon captured n. Muehldorf.
It looks like modified by adding steel splinterproof screens.
Ammo boxes looks different then on typical Flak wagons.

Re: Flak on rails
I have a very specific question, and I'm hoping for guidance on where to look. My uncle's mosquito was shot down by railway flak (mounted on a train), along with two other mosquitoes shot down by the same train, on Feb 22nd 1945 during Operation Clarion. The sole surviving pilot noted that the train was equipped with "a hell of a load of flak... In fact I had not seen as much for ages." The train was on the Bremervörde - Rotenburg route, and was attacked about 1pm.
Is there any way to identify the train? Are there train schedules? Military records for railway flak units? Anything like that?
I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Re: Flak on rails
http://www.chronicles-of-the-luftwaffe.de/?p=799 includes excerpts from a NARA document that contains serial N:os to the German files detailing the shootdowns.
Luftgaukommando XI shootdown reports should contain data on the a/c downings although one of the serial numbers below doesn't match the info on the site above and one case has not yet been documented online:
http://www.fliegerschicksale.de/?Abstur ... rch=bevern
http://www.fliegerschicksale.de/?Abstur ... rch=bevern
http://www.fliegerschicksale.de/?Abstur ... ch=barchel credited to "Eisenbahnflak der 3. Flakdivision"
http://www.fliegerschicksale.de/?Abstur ... Cttenbusch
http://www.fliegerschicksale.de/?Abstur ... ch=brillit
In the last link also note the possibly related 22.02.1945 shootdowns by the Rotenburg railroad station and airfield.

I have found information about leichte Flak-Abteilung 955 (ETr.), including 1./955, in the following links:

Separately, what is the date of the map you've posted?
Thank you,

Re: Flak on rails
2 photos showing V2 rail tranport with AA wagons.
Looks that V2 rocket were oversized so they coupled 2 wagons with help of 3rd one to keep the proper distance.
Warheads were trasported separately.
