artillery or tank firing pin ?

#1

Post by scruffy » 20 Dec 2010, 03:43

can you help me identify this ----
a large ' firing pin ' from a German artillery piece , tank or anti aircraft gun
it measures 11 inches long , and has a threaded removable tip
this was built along the same general lines as a rifles firing pin --only on grand scale
i don't think it was from the famous ' eighty eight ' { i believe they used some type of electronic firing pin }
it has typical army acceptance marks and a code 1796B RhM238 ,...
any answers or input will be greatly appreciated
