Hi.
here two pics of cranes on trucks: the first the famous Kfz. 100 Drehkran on a Buessing-NAG truck, the second crane on a Ford, the last looks like a field modification (source: http://www.deutsches-afrika-korps.de).

Re: german crane, wrecker, field modifications
Hello Edgardo
I dont know the oficial designation of this typ.
We know its a german typ, often used from the WL may be for maitenance or changing plane engines.
it seems to be a univeral crane to be mounted on all standart §ton trucks of the Wehrmacht. we found also pics from this crane on Borgward B3000.
So you see we need more informations
best regards
Henning

Re: german crane, wrecker, field modifications
Hello Bert,
this special Luftwaffe crane is officially (according to D(Luft)T 8800/4) designated "Kfz-Aufsetzkran 3t", which means "attachable motor-vehicle crane 3 tons".
It had a weight of 1400 kg and could be attached to several 3 tons lorries (it was delivered to the troop seperatelly without lorry). It had a capacity of 3 tons at a radius of the crane of 2.5 meters over the end of the platform, respectively 2 tons at a radius uf 3.25 meters. The largest high of the crane hook was 5.5 meters. The lifting speed (depending of the weight of the load) was 5 to 15 cm/min.
Regards, Holger.
