I agree it looks more Bofor than Skoda. Could it be a 8 cm for the Dutch East Indies?

The exportpermits lists 20 guns in field mounting (that use to means mobile in Swedish parlance)jopaerya wrote:Hi Clive

Re: 7.5 cm Bofors Flak M1929
Hi Jos and John
On Nuyt's Overvalwagen site there is quite a bit of information on KNLI Bofors http://www.network54.com/Forum/330333/m ... +with+KNIL
Edit: I am not too sure if the gun on luchtdoelartillerie site is a KNLI 8 cm but it is a Bofor not a Skoda. I had a look at the other guns on the site and the sourcing of photos leaves a little to be desired. The Vickers 75mm is a Turkish one from the Vickers Photo Archive http://www.dockmuseum.org.uk/archive/ca ... =Armaments not a Dutch one despite there being photos of Dutch, Turkish, Romanian, Danish and Lithuanian versions of this gun in the same collection. Could the photo of the Skoda be a victim of this sourcing?

Re: 7.5 cm Bofors Flak M1929
Thanks for your information .
Can we agree that the photo from Beelbankww2 is a 8 cm Bofors , because it does not look like the 7.5 cm Bofors
M 1929 the typical look of the heavy bofors flakguns are the two retrievers on top and under the barrel .
If you see the 8 cm Bofors this one does not have that . Second quistion does the mobile 8 cm Bofors looks the same
as the static one ??
Regards Jos

Your photo is of the static 8 cm. The mobile 8cm looks like the gun from the luchtdoelartillerie, but has a longer buffer (upper recoil cylinder). It is this difference that now makes me think that the luchtdoelartillerie photo is not a KNLI 8 cm Bofors but another Bofors.
Edit;http://www.ww2incolor.com/hungary/800mm ... A+Gun.html a Hungarian 8 cm Bofors

Re: 7.5 cm Bofors Flak M1929
Some remarks , please shoot at them .
The first photo has four wheels
The other picture's have two wheels and the pivot must be put on place with ropes
The first photo has also horizontal retrievers
This model M1929 could be made with different calibers 7.5 cm , 7.62 cm , 8 cm and even a 10.5 cm

Re: 7.5 cm Bofors Flak M1929
Hi Jos
Both the 10.5 cm and the 8 cm KNIL guns have 4 wheeled carriages. Could the first photo be a later version of the 7.5 cm gun?

Hi Clive
I think that you are right , maybe the first photo could be from Dutch pre-war trails .

The photo looks like the Swedish 75mm m/37, The last guns delivered to NEI where sent after the war started so I presume they would like to get the latest version.
Cheers

Re: 7.5 cm Bofors Flak M1929
Quote from my manuscript Dutch Guns:
"On October 30th 1933, Wilton-Fijenoord offered the Dutch military authorities a range of Bofors anti-aircraft weapons : 7,5 cm and 7,62 L/50 and 8 cm L/50 weapons."
The Dutch picked the Vickers after lenghty trials in 1935.
KNIL had two versions of 8cm, the mobile Bofors one and the fixed Wilton-Fijenoord-Bofors.
If this gun on Jos's pic is of a later version, than it has nothing to do with the Dutch forces
