One of the three “Jolanthe-Schwein” Ju 87A's that served in Spain in 1938. One of my all time favorite aircraft- I love pigs, I love Stukas and I love those big old spats on the early models where they could paint "nose art". Source: http://ww2images.blogspot.com/2014/01/j ... ondor.html

Re: Photos of Axis airplanes in Spain
There were no three, but four Ju 87A's in Spain in 1938, though only three at any given time. Initially there were "29-2", "29-3" and "29-4"; later one of them was damaged in combat and returned to Germany, and "29-5" (the plane in the photos) was sent to Spain to replace it.Maxschnauzer wrote:One of the three “Jolanthe-Schwein” Ju 87A's that served in Spain in 1938

Interesting. I know that a B-1 was lost in combat but was unaware of the fourth A-1.Ironmachine wrote:There were no three, but four Ju 87A's in Spain in 1938, though only three at any given time. Re: Photos of Axis airplanes in Spain
Arturo O previously posted this nice photo of a Ju 87B last year. To me it looks like Number 29-11. Does anyone know any more about the story of this aircraft? Ironmachine?

Max

Yes, it's "29-11", a well-known aircraft. There are many photos of this plane.
"29-11" arrived in October 1938. Apparently it was hit by ground fire on 5 March 1939, but was repaired. After the war, it returned to Germany.

You mean the part I circled in red? You are tricked by the angle of the photo. It is not at the front, but in the wing, as you can see in this photo (source:http://www.warbirdsresourcegroup.org/LR ... u87a-1.jpg): It's the pitot tube, IIRC.von thoma wrote:What appears at front of the Jolanthe-Stuka ?
