Balli Kombëtar
Balli Kombëtar
Does anyone have any photos of the Albanian anti-communist organization Balli Kombëtar that collaborated with the Axis?
Wikimedia had this to offer:

Hi Marcus,
There are some (tiny ones) in the articles of Carl Savich ("Serbianna"?), Maybe you know them?
Cheers

Re: Balli Kombëtar
Hello Marcus
I am not aware of any photos of Balli Kombëtar but the only two books in English I knew which had quite substantial information on this obscure Axis collaborationist unit were:
1) Albania in the Twentieth Century, A History: Volume II: Albania in Occupation and War, 1939-45 by Owen Pearson, 2006
http://www.amazon.com/Albania-Twentieth ... y_b_text_b
2) The SS Hunter Battalions: The Hidden History of the Nazi Resistance Movement 1944-5 by Perry Biddiscombe, 2006
http://www.amazon.com/SS-Hunter-Battali ... 558&sr=1-1
The latter book has a chapter on Balli Kombentar where Skorzeny and his Jagverbande unit tried to manouver Balli Kombentar into an Axis collaborationist from a politico-military standpoint.

Re: Balli Kombëtar
Hi Marcus,
Carl Savich had wrote several articles about the war in Balkans. Ok, he doesn´t write very friendly about axis troops. If you introduce his name in google, I am sure you will several options. One example is
www.serbianna.com/columns/savich/060.shtml
But as I mentioned the photos are tiny. Maybe with better knowledge with computers, one can make them bigger.

From Balkanforum and Serbianna (Carl Savich)
Now I don´t know well the organization, so lets check the photos with doubt.Re: Balli Kombëtar
Just a little warning about balkan sources, balkan people have a bad habit to glorify their own people/side no matter what and to demonize the other side no matter what, Carl Savich and Serbianna arent the best reliable sources about Albanians, for example the first picture is of Isa Boletini who died in 1916, its like me posting a picture of Billy the kid and saying that he is an American volunteer.Arto O wrote:From Balkanforum and Serbianna (Carl Savich)Now I don´t know well the organization, so lets check the photos with doubt.
