I was wondering. What kind of units were given the title of "Panzer Jäger"?
Was it only tank destroyers? Or could any tank be given this title?

wasn't the tank destroyer troops (troops eq with weapons for tank hunting, like Jagdpanther) the only one to be called Panzerjägers

Hello!

At the beginning of the war all anti tank units were called Panzerabwehr-.
On 16.März 1940 (hope the date is correct) all Panzerabwehr units were renamed Panzerjäger as Abwehr was a too defensive expression and hunter was more proper to boost morale.
Panzerjäger were all self propelled as well as drawn anti tank guns.

I see, so ordinary tanks weren't given this title.
How about Stukas? I mean, they were fitted with Flaks for primarily tasks of tank destroying?

thanks for the response all.
