FLAK and PAK Pics

#1

Post by Aufklarung » 03 Apr 2003, 02:24

Hi all
I took these the other day around the base. This is the sum of WW2 German kit bigger than a bread box, around here. I have yet to follow up the rumours about Panzers in our trg area but believe it may be possible. This belief is based on one very unclear photo I've seen of a long deep trench dug in what looks like our area and has nose to tale German WW2 AFVs in it. Supposedly this happened in the late '40s after the war. This was all just covered over and forgotten. I am unclear where the kit in these photos came from but will go out on a limb and say: Germany!!
These are my photos so please feel free to use them as required.
regards
A :)

Hi Aufklarung,

Nice pictures! Do you mind if I ask what base you're on and what unit you're with?

Aufklarung!!! :o :o :o :o

Can you please!!! (in the next trip) take pics of the optics mounts

(I know they are not present..it would be too tempting) but at least the mounts....

I posted a request a while ago, for pics of the optics on a pak (any) mounted, and the post never received an answer.

thanks in advance :D

Xavier
I will do that for you and post the pics in 1 or 2 days. OK?
Korbius
It seems that, yes, it was hit by a shell but it could be that it was rendered useless by it's crew before capture as well. It is hard to say even by looking at it. It also could have been a breech explosion but again; hard to tell. When I go back for Xavier I'll try to get a different angle shot of the damage to that area of the FH 18.

It looks as if the breach damage was done by schrapnel or flying debris. Possibly from a near by explosion. :?

You made my day!!

you deserve the coronas, the dos equis (XX), the warm weather AND the señorita!!!

XX beer was developed specially for foreign consumption, we have XXX beer (unrelated to the sex thing..) and Tecate also, the best of all the mexican beers.

Tecate beer only comes in a can, and for a creamy taste (and expensive..) Bohemia!!!

For a complete package..Visit mexico!!! safer than ever
(this message was brought to you courtesy of mexico's tourist board..)

Now, on a serious note, I have some WWII vintage pieces, andf by lookign at your pics, I am starting to figure which ones belong where, mainly in the big gun and the pak... :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

you have been most helpful

Nice photos!

Usually such a nice example would be placed behind glass so no one could touch it!

How did this end up in Canada????

Thanks for your kind words, but I think everyone can take a photo
It is the things I see you have to thank :D
