Was the color of the Hungarian uniform the same color for the entire war? I have asked because I have seen pictures with soldiers wearing more of a khaki tan color.

I agree, the uniforms I've seen arnt that color at all, and would have brown or gold buttons. Though the tan uniforms are only for the summer. The regular uniforms were a green wool. In this picture you can see both types. The artilery officers (red collar tabs) are wareing regular uniforms, and the cavilry officer (blue collar tabs) is wearing a summer uniform.

Taltos: on the pic wich you posted, we can see three officers (one general, not artillery, the third from left, you can recognise him about his big cap insignia)with most probably private tailored tunics. This tunics are made of fine garbadine wich were also privat purchased ones. So I think they colour can be very different.
As for the summer uniforms: they had hidden buttons like on the german fliegerbluse, so this is an other reason why I think that all of the tunics are "normal " officer ones.

Look at the color of the German officers. One tunic looks almost blue! Feild gray varied tremendously too!
Point is color photos from WW2 (and even today) can give very distorted colors!
You can say from those photos that the Hungarian unifroms were more brown (had more red tones than the german !)
From most refs Hungarian wool unifroms look to me like the brown of US/British wool unis of the period (though there is variation here too in the amount of green!)

Here is an officer - private purchase gaberdine wool - this particular uniforom was made in Hungary with imported British wool - 'superchord' is bevo stiched into the lining. Also an early war period with 'stand up' collar.

Paratrooper comabt tunic - dated 1938 and later modified with the fold down collar and extra padding in the arm pit areas - coarse wool similar but more rugged than contemporary German field uniforms.

Nope - it took me several years and just the right time to get the paratrooper tunic.

Hello,

Here's a photo showing the Hungarian uniform in wear including a Captain wearing summer tunic.

Cheers,
